We have sent our material to producer Tue Madsen and will attempts to mix our album in the end of February.

Week 666 First mix by Tue Madsen (Danihjel reports)
Sorry it took some weeks before we returned to update you.
We are now writing 2010 and we are reaching the end of the recordings.
Some might ask – why does it take this long. As we explained earlier we all have day jobs – we’ re not famous yet – so we have to record the album in our spare time. That means a couple of times each week. To speed up the thing guitarist Pede who owns the studio in which we are recording has taught the us (me, Dag and Schou) how to use his equipment and protools. I have fx recorded five of the vocal tracks by myself. And I like it this way.
As we also told you then genius Tue Madsen will mix our album. Last week he did the first mix and we liked it.
We added some few suggestions to some minor things, but there is no doubt, that the sound on the album will be fudcking awesome…
I’ll finish the last vocals track 12. january (hopefully – I got the flu, but think I will manage).

Merry fucking christmas (DanIhjel reporting)
With some delay we are back reporting from Earplug Studio.

I have done vocals on five tracks and will do some before and just after the new year.
Schou has also been recording his vocals on a few tracks and the strings has recorded more or less all the songs…

Week? Work work work… (DanIhjel reporting)
Christmas time is busy busy time….
I don’ t know what my point is, so let me just get on to whats this blog is all about: Pussy!..Sorry.. MUSIC..
I’ ve been screaming my loungs out while recording the track ‘Bandido’. A song where I growl both in English and spanish like my mexican brothers from Brujeria.
Pede has learned me how to use Protools, so I can record alone in my own pace, fart when I want to and so forth…
As usual I’m haveing lots of chocolate milch, chocolate bars and some winegums by my side.. Mostly for so I can get even more fat, but also because I’ ve found out that it is good for my sound when I sing..
And yeah yeah, I know lots of people say, that you sing from teh stomach – not the throat – maybe my technique is too bad – maybe these ‘people’ should put a fucking candybar down their throaths (gag gag haha)…
Pede has been working on a solo on the song ‘Don’ t make me mad’, whick our former guitarist Krist usually played.
Besides that he has been recording guitars on… man I can’ t remember… but it sounds cool…
Dag has been moved his feminine fingers up and down his black metal bass while recording ‘I return’ – heavy heavy shit….

Week 10 Krist leaves us – Hank Sherman plays solo (Dag reporting)
First of all, we’re down to four members again, since our guitarist Krist left us. Unfortunately he primarily quits because of financially difficulties… ain’t life a bitch… Well, there’s no hard feelings, and we all wish him the best, Hail.
Of course this gave us a set back, but we’re in the fire again recording and working on the album. We have decided to finish this album just the four of us, instead of finding a new guitarist during the recordings… On the other hand, legendary Hank Shermann will play a solo on The Devilty.
We’ve worked with Hank many times before and we’ ve known him for years, so it was obvious for us to ask him, as we’re in lack of guitarists… during the last week Dag recorded his bass for Replacing God, Pede played an awesome opening solo, and Daniel roared his lungs out to it as well… Yeah, one whole track almost done.
Schou has also started recording his backing vocals to the album, so we’re almost set to send the first tracks to our producer Tue Madsen (his not really ours, he just the producer on The Devilty). Thanx for following, cheers and horns, Dag, PitchBlack.

Week 9 – Tue Madsen visit PitchBlack in studio (Danihjel reporting)
This week Tue Madsen dropped by Earplug Studio.
He came after he had been working with Sick of it all the whole day to help us out with some minor dificulties.
And man it was nice to have him drop by.
He told us about his philosophy in music. Fx he prefers that we record just two rhythm guitars instead of four, which we though he might liked. He said that having just two guitars makes it sound more real – gives the music more nerve. The same with the vocals. Their will be no dubbing of my main vocals. Having two more or less equal vocal tracks will make it sound less real.
This is a philosphy, whick we like in PitchBlack – what we do on record should be the same that the audience hears when they pay to see us play live concerts.
Tue Madsen opened our minds and we’ re looking forward to record some more….
We might move slowly..but we’ re moving towards perfection.
Did I mention that Pede has recorded some fucking nasty guitar tracks this week? Well he did. BYE BYE

Week 8 – Finally some vocalrecordings (Danihjel reporting)
Though I hate it it was awesome to finally record some vocals.
The first verse I had to take about 50 times. My throat was too fucking dry and I ate all the chocolate and winegums before entering the studio.. bad idea…
But as I became warmer it all went quite fast and I did all the vocals for the track ‘Defriended’.
A track with english, german and danish lyrics.
It sounds brutal!!!
Drummer Schou will also be doing some vocals on this track so I’ ve left some spots open for him to sing.
I’ m looking forward to here our ‘death duet’ lol.
Beside the vocal things Pede has been busy checking up on some of the drum tracks on our opening track ‘Replacing God’. Dag, who helps Pede in the studio, has been sitting one day also just checking out the drums on the track called ‘I return’.

Week 7 – Busy busy busy (Danihjel reporting)
As you might already figured we’ ve been busy this week.
Sadly not with recordings but with lots of other practical matters….
But we still have had the time to do some minor things…
Fx we’ ve done guitars on a number called ‘Bandidio’. Thats maybe the most violent number on the record – and we love it..
It’ s also the last song we made for the record, which once again indicates that PitchBlack are becoming more nasty, dirty and violent.
Lots of bands seems to soften these days as they get older.. But we DO NOT!
We might be close to our 30s than 20s but the teenage aggressions are still intact…

The viedo is short, not too serious but it shows who we are. A METAL BAND THAT LOVES AGGRESSIVE MUSIC AND LOTS OF FUN!

This week Earplug Studio was booked by another band, so we have not been recording anything.
Instead we have used the time to discuss some practical matters, but next week, we’ll be back again!!!

Week 5 – Tue Madsen will mix our album (Schou blogging)
This week we have decided who is going to mix and master our album.
The legendary Tue Madsen of Antfarm Studio is in charge of the mix while Mr. Ziggy og ZigZound most probably will be putting his golden fingers on the master part.
We have chosen these guys because we admire their qualities – and we think they will give the record the BEST sound. They have both done great works with bands we love ourselves fx The Haunted and Illdisposed.
Sick of it all, Dark Tranquility, Mnemic and Hatesphere are other bands Tue has put his golden fingers on.

We also had a meeting with Mr. Rune – who is in charge of our artwork. We gave him a lot of details to work with – and fortunately we all agreed in the same ideas. Lovely…
We decided that title of our album will be “The Devilty”.
Last but not to forget –I turned 29 years (what a big boy)! So we got caught in the Pitchblack-Mansion… Two days of drinking nasty cheep beers, lots of music and hangovers.
